How to Install the U Part Wig:
- Before jumping in to installing the U part wig on your hair, you need to determine the opening size of the U part, meaning how much of your natural hair you want to leave out, so that it would blend over the top with the U part Wig.
- Next, you need to adjust the elastic band according to your head size. Place the wig on your head, starting from the nape of your neck all the way to the top part you section off, securing the wig on the sides of your head as well. If you feel the wig is too tight or too loose, go ahead and adjust the elastic band that is on the inside of your wig to fit your head size.
- Start by cutting off the bands that are on the U part section on the wig. This will allow you to determine the opening size of the wig.
- Brush your hair and the wig thoroughly, then section a U shaped part of your natural hair and clip it away. This will create a base-line for when you put on the U wig later.
- If you have short hair (chin or shoulder length) you can either tie your hair away in a sleek low ponytail, or you can braid your hair. For longer hair, it is better and preferred you braid your hair into cornrows.
- After braiding your hair, it is time to put on the U part wig.
- Place the wig on your head, aligning it with the u-part you sectioned off.
- Insert the combs that are on the top part of the wig into your braided hair. Then insert the ones that are on the sides of your head to secure the wig, making sure it is lying flat on your head
- Lay down your natural hair that you clipped away in the beginning, and part it in the direction you want.
- Using a blow-dryer or a flat iron, straighten out your natural hair to blend it with the wig. Make sure that your natural hair covers the edges of the u-part opening.
