Here are the basic steps for applying tape in hair extensions:

It is always recommended to have tape in hair extensions applied by a professional hair stylist to ensure proper placement and to minimize damage to the natural hair.

1. Prepare the natural hair: Wash and dry the hair, making sure it's free of oils and styling products. Brush the hair to remove tangles.
2. Choose the right tape in extensions: Pick the extensions that match the color and texture of your natural hair or choose a different color if you want to try a new look.
3. Section the hair: Part the hair into small sections, starting from the back and moving towards the front. Clip each section out of the way to keep it separate.
4. Apply the tape in extensions: Take one piece of extension hair and peel off the backing paper from one side of the tape. Place the tape on the natural hair near the root, sticky side down, keeping in mind to leave a little bit of space to allow movement. Take the second piece and peel off the backing paper from the other side of the tape. Place the second piece on the bottom of the first piece, sandwiching the natural hair between the two tape in hair extensions. Using a special extension plier, press down firmly to secure the tape in extensions in place.
5. Repeat the process: Repeat the process in the next section of hair, making sure to stagger the tape ins so they don't line up vertically.
6. Cut the hair extensions to desired lengths, if necessary.
7. Style the hair: Once all the tape in extensions are in place, brush through the hair and style as desired.

How long will my tape in hair extensions last?

Typically, tape in hair extensions can last for several months, depending on the care they receive. With proper care and maintenance, your tape in extensions can last for up to 6-10 months before they need to be replaced. Here's how you can take care of your tape in extensions and make them last as long as possible to give you the long, luscious locks you desire:

• Brush your hair regularly: Before and after washing your hair, be sure to brush it thoroughly to remove any tangles or knots. Start at the bottom of your hair and work your way up, using a wide-tooth comb or a paddle brush.

• Wash your hair carefully: When washing your hair, avoid using hot water, which can damage the tape in extensions. Instead, use lukewarm water and a gentle, sulphate free shampoo. Apply the shampoo to the roots of your hair and massage it in, being careful not to tug on the extensions. Rinse thoroughly and follow with a conditioner, avoiding the tape in tabs.

• Dry your hair gently: After washing your hair, gently blot it with a towel to remove excess water. Do not rub your hair, as this can cause the extensions to become tangled or damaged. Let your hair air dry or use a hair dryer on a low heat setting.

• Avoid excessive heat: Avoid using hot tools such as flat irons, curling irons, and hair dryers, as the heat can cause the tape in extensions to become damaged. If you must use heat styling tools, use a heat protectant spray to help protect the extensions.

• Avoid sleeping with wet hair: Sleeping with wet hair can cause the tape in extensions to become tangled or matted. If your hair is wet, let it air dry or blow dry it on a low heat setting before going to bed.
